Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report. Well, now's the time to squeeze in a session. We're getting a bit of a break from the next storm and those conditions are much more favorable, with a good amount of swell ou there.
It's starting off fairly clean early on, with a combination of some decent west-northwest swell, some northwest windswell and small south southwest energy in the water.
That recipe is providing some fast and kinda crumbly lines, that should improve once the tide drains out later on. Most Newport Beach spots are running about waist- to shoulder-high, with the top combo breaks pulling some head-high sets.

At 7:59 this morning the tide pushed up to a 6.4 high. The tide then drains out to a negative 1.3 low at 2:47 this afternoon.
If you're going to grab a session, you'll want to wear at least a 3/2 fullsuit or a 4/3 and maybe the booties, with the water temperature hanging between 56 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!

FYI...Remember the County Health Department says surfers and swimmers should stay out of the water after a rain for at least 72 hours, especially near storm drains and river mouths.
