
Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report. Well, our run of fun size surf is hanging around for another day. So, get there and enjoy the waves and the nice weather!
The conditions are nice and glassy early on, with a combination of energy. We're seeing more south-southwest swell today and a little less of the west-northwest energy. That recipe is providing plenty of fast sectiony lines, with some nice corners.
Most Newport Beach spots are running about knee- to chest-high, with those south-facing focal points pulling a few plus sets. Taking a look at those tides...

At 8:23 this morning it climbs up to a 4.7 high which will have many spots pretty slow and kinda mushy early to mid-morning. Things should definitely improve once that tide turns around and eventually drops to a 0.3 low at 2:38 this afternoon.
If you're planning on paddling, you'll want to wear at least a 3/2 fullsuit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 57 and 58 degrees. See ya in the water!
