Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report. Well, unfortunatley this latest storm is bringing some bad wind with it! Yep, the surf has picked up, but the conditions look like they're going to continue to deteriorate throughout the day.
We're already seeing some decent bump or even chop on the water thanks to the variable south southwest wind. As fas as the surf goes, we've got a combination of energy in the water. There's a pretty good amount of south and southwest swells and some smaller west northwest energy.
That recipe is offering some crumbly and bumpy lines, with a few decent ones. Most spots in Newport Beach are seeing waist-to shoulder-high waves, with the focal points pulling some head-high waves, with some bigger ones.

At 6:22 a.m the tide dropped to a 0.2 low which will have many spots needing water early to mid-morning. The tide then pushes back up to a 3.1 high at 12:45 p.m.
If you're planning on paddling, break out at least a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 57 and 59 degrees. Good luck out there!!
