Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report. Well, she's looking a little more lively out there today, but overall it's still hanging on the small side, with a few playful size waves.
We're seeing some fairly clean conditions early on, with a mixture of energy in the water. There's mostly a decent dose of northwest wind and groundswell and some fairly minimal south-soutwest energy.
That recipe is offering some crumbly sectiony lines, with a few fun rippable shoulders. Most Newport Beach spots are showing knee- to waist-high waves, with the top combo breaks pulling stomach high waves, with some chest-high sets.

At 6:53 this morning the tide pushed up to 4.8 high which will have some spots sort of shut down early on. Your best bet...once that tide backs down a bit, but before it eventually drains out to a negative 0.1 low at 1:19 this afternoon.
If you're going to get wet, well that water temperature is still pretty chilly, so throw on a 4/3 fullsuit and possibly the booties, with it averaging between 55 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!
