Thursday Surf Report

The waves pick up a little.

Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report.  Well, the waves have picked up a little, but unfortunately it's nothing to write home about.  Overall, it's still hanging on the small side, with a few playful waves out there.

The conditions are starting off fairly clean, with a combination of energy.  We're seeing mainly a fair amount of northwest wind and groundswell and some very minimal south soutwest energy in the water.

That recipe is making for some kinda soft sectiony lines, with some fun workable corners.  Most spots in Newport Beach are pulling knee-to waist-high waves, with the focal points seeing stomach-high waves, with a couple chest-high sets.

At 6:53 a.m the tide pushed up to 4.8 high which will have some spots pretty full and inconsistent early on.  Your best bet, once that tide backs down a bit, but before it eventually drains out to a negative 0.1 low at 1:19 p.m.

If you're going to grab a session, you'll want to wear a 4/3 fullsuit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature hanging between 55 and 57 degrees.  See ya in the water!
