Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report. Well, we're looking at a little smaller surf than yesterday. Most spots are hanging on the small side, with some of the top spots pulling in a couple playful size waves.
We're starting off with some texture on the water, but it's still fairly clean. Taking a look at the waves...we've got mainly residual northwest windswell and very little south southeast and southwest energy.
That recipe is providing some fast and crumbly sectiony lines, with some of the sets a little walled. Most Newport Beach spots are running about knee- to waist-high, with the top spots picking up some stomach-high sets.

At 7:23 this morning the tide climbs up to a 3.9 high which might have some spots a little soft and slow early to mid-morning. Things should improve a bit once tide drops a bit, but before it completely drains out to a 0.9 low at 1:20 this afternoon.
If you're going to get wet, you'll most likely want to wear at least a 3/2 fullsuit for that a.m session, with the water temperature averaging between 57 and 59 degrees. See ya in the water!
