Traffic Alert: Newport Beach Roadwork Causes Severe Traffic Congestion On Macarthur Blvd.
The city of Newport Beach advised drivers to avoid Macarthur due to roadwork in the area causing major traffic congestion.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Roadwork in the area of Macarthur Boulevard, between Bonita Canyon and San Miguel caused heavy traffic delays on Tuesday, the City of Newport Beach said.
"The pavement grinding and overlay operations for the MacArthur Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation project began on Monday, February 13 between Bonita Canyon Road and San Joaquin Hills Road," they said.
Weather permitting, pavement operations will continue for a few weeks.

Construction hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to minimize the impacts of traffic delays during peak hours, the city said.
"During working hours, one traffic lane will remain open in each direction on MacArthur Boulevard. Alternate routes are highly recommended," they said.
