Trash Truck Fire Breaks Out In Newport Beach

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A fire erupted in a trash truck traveling through a Newport Beach neighborhood Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The fire was reported near the intersection of Catalina and Holmwood drives, according to the Newport Beach Fire Department.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a vehicle with a smoking bed contained to the rear cargo area.

Firefighters dumped the contents onto the street, and the situation is currently being handled by the NBFD.

Residents were advised to use caution while traveling through the area.
