Tuesday Surf Report

Surf Junkie Jeff talks surf conditions.

Good Tuesday morning, surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report.  Well, it's looking a little better than the last couple of days.  Overall, we're still seeing some fairly small energy, but it's definitely rideable at those top combo breaks.

The conditions are starting off pretty clean, but with the latest storms expected to come into play over the next couple of days, this could be the last clean day of surf for a little while.

We're seeing a small combination of minor west northwest energy and a little southerly swell in the water.  That recipe is offering some kinda crumbly and soft lines, with a few fun corners.

Most Newport Beach spots are seeing knee- to waist-high waves, with the standout spots pulling a few plus sets.  Look for things to improve and steepen once that tide drains a bit providing the wind doesn't pick up!

At 6:29 this morning the tide pushed up to a 5.9 high which will have many spots pretty swamped or even shut down early to mid morning.  The tide then drains out to a negative 1.0 low at 1:41 this afternoon.

If you're going to get wet, break out at least a 3/2 full or a 4/3 and maybe the booties, with the water temperature hanging between 56 and 58 degrees.  See ya in the water!
