Good Tuesday morning, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report. Well, the good news: The surf has definitely picked up. The bad news: We're already seeing some light southeasterly wind on it from the start.
There's some texture or light bump on it early on. We've got a combination of some increasing west-northwest and northwest swells and a tiny amount of leftover south-southwest energy in the water.
That recipe is offering us with some kinda soft sectiony lines, with some fun pick and choose corners. Most Newport Beach spots are pulling waist to chest high waves, with the top combo breaks seeing some shoulder high plus sets.

Taking a look at those tides, at 6:16 this morning it climbed up to a 5.1 high which will have many breaks pretty full and slow early to mid-morning. The tide then drains out to a negative 0.4 low at 1:28 this afternoon.
If you're going to get wet, you'll want to wear that thicker fullsuit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 55 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!
