Good Tuesday morning, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report. Well, we're seeing another day of more fun crossed-up energy out there. Yep, it's worth grabbing a session, but I'm a bit concerned about the southerly winds picking up in the morning hours, thanks to the return of the coastal eddy or marine layer.
It's starting off fairly clean from the start, with some spots seeing some texture on it. We have a nice mixture of swells in the water. We're seeing some south-southwest swell and some decent northwest windswell out there.
That recipe is offering this stretch of sand with some fast and fairly peaky lines, with plenty of nice wedgy shoulders. Most Newport Beach spots are running waist- to chest-high, with the standout breaks pulling shoulder-high waves, with maybe even an occasional plus set.

Checking the tides: At 10:03 later this morning it drains out to a 0.7 low which will have several spots in need of water and on the inconsistent side mid-morning. The tide then pushes back up to a 4.2 high at 5:11 this evening.
If you're going to grab a session, then I'd throw on a 3/2 fullsuit with the water temperature averaging between 58 and 60 degrees. Have fun out there!
