Wave Check: Friday

There's still a pretty good dose of energy out there.

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report.  Well, if you happen to have the day off, then go grab some of the action while it lasts.

It has dropped a bit, but there's still a pretty good dose of energy out there.  It's mostly clean, with a mix of fading west-northwest swell and some small northwest windswell.

That recipe is offering us some racy and workable sectioning lines with some of those set waves a little wally.  Most Newport Beach breaks are running about knee- to chest-high with the top spots pulling shoulder-high waves, with a few head high plus sets.

At 5:26 this morning, the tide dropped to a 2.8 low and then climbs back up to a 4.9 high at 11:18 a.m., then drops once again to a 0.3 low at 6:45 this evening.

If you're going to grab a saltwater bath, throw on the 4/3 full suit and possibly the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 55 and 57 degrees.  See ya in the water!
