Wave Check: Friday

It's worth getting wet!

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report.  Well it's more rideable than the last couple of days.  Basically we're seeing mostly small to some playful size surf out there.

The conditions are starting off pretty clean this morning, with a combo of small to decent west northwest swell, a little northwest energy and minimal amount of southwesterly swell.

That's giving us some racy workable lines, with a few fast corners to be had, but many spots are lacking in the shape department.  Just about any board will work out there today.  Most spots in Newport Beach are seeing knee-to waist-high waves, with the top breaks pulling stomach-high waves, with a few bigger ones.

Taking a look at the tides...at 10:50 a.m it drops to a 1.1 low and then doesn't climb back up to a 4.6 high until 3:34 a.m on Saturday.  So, basically your not going to see much change and many spots will be needing water throughout the day.

If you're going to get wet, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit or the 4/3 and possibly the booties, with the water temp averaging between 56 and 57 degrees.  See ya in the water!
