Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report. Well it's starting to fade away, with a few of the top combo breaks in the area still seeing a few playful size waves.
It's clean and glassy from the start, with a mixture of some leftover south southwest swell and some lingering westerly energy in the water. That recipe is providing some kinda crumbly workable lines, with a few racy sections.
Most spots in Newport Beach are seeing knee-to waist-high waves, with the top combo breaks pulling some stomach-high waves, with a few chest-high sets.

Taking a look at those tides. At 8:42 a.m the tide pushes up to 5.1 high which will have many spots pretty inconsistent throughout the morning. Your best bet...wait for that tide to turn around and drop a bit as it eventually drains out to a negative 0.1 low at 3:05 p.m.
If you're going to get wet, you'll want to throw on that 4/3 fullsuit, with that water temp feeling a bit colder and most spots averaging between 55 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!
