Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report. Well, we're seeing a small to decent dose of energy out there and it looks like there could be a fun window at some point during the day, unless the conditions take a turn for the worse.
Those conditions are starting off mostly clean, with a little texture on it. There's mainly some south southwest swell and hardly any northwest energy in the water.
That recipe is providing some racy semi-wally lines, with a few good wedgy shoulders to snag. Most spots in Newport Beach are running about knee-to waist-high plus, with the south facing focal points pulling stomach-high waves, with some chest-high plus sets.

Checking the tides, at 6:13 a.m it dropped to a negative 0.4 low which will have some spots lacking water early to mid-morning. The tide then climbs back up to a 3.2 high at 12:58 p.m.
If you're going to get wet, throw on at least your 3/2 fullsuit and possibly the booties, with the water temperature still on the cold side and hanging between 56 and 57 degrees. Have fun out there!
