Wave Check: Friday

A new reinforcement of energy!

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report.  Well, it looks like we're seeing an increase in the action.  Yep, there are plenty of playful size waves to be had out there!

We're starting off with a fairly clean ocean surface, but once again it's that time of year where we're seeing some marine layer which means the southerly winds could pick up at anytime.

As far as the surf goes...there's a fair amount of northwest swell and some pretty small south southwest energy underneath it.  That recipe is providing some racy sectiony lines, with a ton of rippable corners.  Most Newport Beach spots are running about knee-to chest-high, with better combo breaks pulling some shoulder-high sets.

At 6:59 a.m the tide climbed up to a 3.3 high and then drops to a 1.6 low at 12:18 p.m and then pushes up once again to a 5.0 high at 6:52 p.m.

If you're going to grab a session, you'll want to wear at least a 3/2 fullsuit, with the water temperature averaging between 57 and 59 degrees.  See ya in the water!
