Wave Check: Friday

The conditions are starting off pretty lousy!

Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report.  Well, it looks like we're seeing the return of that marine layer.  Unfortunately, that means we're seeing some funky southerly winds along the coast early on which isn't helping the conditions!

There's already some texure or decent bump on the surface.  We've got mostly a fair amount of northwest windswell and very little south southeast energy in the water.

That recipe is providing some crumbly and bumpy sectiony lines, with a few decent shoulders.  Most spots in Newport Beach are running about knee-to chest-high, with the standout breaks pulling some shoulder-high sets.

At 8:07 a.m the tide climbs up to a 3.9 high which will have some spots starting off kind of slow early to mid-morning.  The tide then drops to a 1.0 low at 1:48 p.m.

If you're planning on paddling, well that water temperature has taken a dip again, so you'll most likely want to throw on the 4/3 fullsuit and maybe the booties, with it averaging between 56 and 58 degrees.  Good luck out there!
