Waking up with the waves on Friday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report. Well, it's looking better then the last couple of days. Yep, it has picked up a bit, but it's definitely nothing real solid, that's for sure.
We're seeing some fairly clean conditions early on, with a combo of some increasing west northwest swell, some northwest energy and small southerly swell in the background. That's offering some workable lines, with a few good fast sections.
Most spots in Newport Beach are seeing knee-to chest-high waves, with the standout breaks pulling a few plus sets.

Unfortunately, we're still dealing with those extreme tides...so if you can... you'll want to paddle out once the tide has dropped a bit, but before it drains out too much.
At 9:26 a.m it pushes up to a 5.4 high which will have many spots off to a slow start. The tide then drops to a negative 0.3 low at 4:07 p.m.

If you're going to grab a session, you'll want to throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit and possibly the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!
