Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report. Well, it looks like it could turn on at some point later this morning. We're seeing a decent dose of energy, but we're dealing with an early morning high tide which has many spots starting off pretty swamped and slow.
The conditions are mostly clean early on, with a mixture of mostly south southwesterly energy and some minor remnant west northwest swell in the water. That's providing some fairly crumbly sectiony lines, with a few racy corners.
Most Newport Beach spots are seeing knee-to chest-high waves, with those top south facing breaks pulling an occasional bigger one once the tide drains out a little.

At 6:16 a.m the tide pushed up to a 5.3 high which will have many spots pretty full early on. The tide then drains out to a negative 0.5 low at 1:19 p.m.
If you're going to grab a session, you'll want to wear at least the 3/2 fullsuit or a 4/3 and maybe the booties, with the water temperature hanging between 56 and 58 degrees.

FYI, County Health Officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the water after a rain for at least 72 hours, especially near river mouths, harbor entrances and storm drains.
