Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report. Well, definitely don't be showing up to work late today!! Yep, it's looking pretty messy out there.
We're already seeing lots of chop on it early on and that's likely to worsen throughout the day. We've got a mix of some increasing northwest wind and stormswell in the water. That recipe is making for some chewed up lines, with nothing to really work with.
Most spots in Newport Beach are seeing waist-to chest-high waves, with the focal points pulling a few plus sets. Taking a look at those tides...at 10:16 a.m. it pushes up to a 4.1 high and then drops to a 0.9 low at 4:07 p.m.

If you must get wet, then throw on the 4/3 fullsuit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature hanging between 55 and 57 degrees.
FYI, County Health Officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean after a rain for at least 72 hours, especially near river mouths, harbor entrances and storm drains.
