Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report. Well, there's a good amount of energy out there from this latest storm. So, you might want to get wet at some point during the day.
We're starting off, with some semi-clean conditions, with some spots seeing some leftover lump and bump from all the crazy winds. We've got a mix of mostly modest south windswell and some west northwest energy.
That recipe is giving us some fast and fairly broken-up lines, with some nice shoulders to snag. Most Newport Beach spots are pulling chest-to head-high waves, with the focal points seeing some overhead sets.

Taking a look at those tides. At 5:07 a.m it drained out to a negative 0.8 low which will have several spots desperate for water early on. The tide then pushes back up to a 4.7 high at 11:16 a.m and then drops once again to a 0.5 low at 4:56 p.m.
If you're planning on paddling, break out a 4/3 fullsuit and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 58 degrees. Good luck out there!

FYI, County Health Officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean for at least 72 hours after a rain due to the possibility of elevated bacteria levels, especially near river mouths, storm drains and harbor entrances.
