Wave Check: Monday

The surf is small and playful!

Waking up with the waves on Monday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report.  Well, if you like the small stuff, then grab your board and wetsuit and get out there.  Yep, you're not going to find much size, but it's definitely still pretty playful!

The conditions are pretty clean or light offshore, with a fairly small mix of energy out there.  There's some remnant northwest windswell and some minor south southwest energy in the water.

That recipe is providing some racy sectiony lines, with some steep rippable shoulders.  Most spots in Newport Beach are seeing knee-to waist-high waves, with the standout combo breaks pulling the occasional stomach-high plus set.

Checking the tides, at 9:59 a.m it pushes up to a 3.8 high and then drops to a 1.6 low at 3:04 p.m.  If you're planning on paddling, do yourself a favor and throw on that 4/3 fullsuit and possibly the booties, with the water temp taking a good dip and averaging between 55 and 57 degrees.  See ya in the water!
