Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report. Well it looks like we're seeing a new pulse of energy out there. Overall we're seeing plenty of playful size waves in this neck of the woods.
It's fairly clean and glassy early on, with a mixture of dropping south southwest swell and some new westerly energy starting to fill-in throughout the day.
That recipe is providing some fairly soft sectiony lines, with a few fast corners to pick off. Things will be pretty inconsistent from the start because of the mid-morning high tide, but as that tide drops it'll get steeper.

Most spots in Newport Beach are running knee-to chest-high, with the top combo breaks pulling a few larger sets.
At 8:10 a.m the tide climbs up to a 5.3 high which will have many spots pretty full or even kind of shut off throughout the morning. The tide then drains out to a negative 0.3 low at 2:42 p.m.

If you're going to get wet, you'll want to wear at least a 3/2 fullsuit or the 4/3 and maybe the booties, with the water temperature hanging between 56 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!
