Good Thursday morning surfers, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report. Well, it's going to be hard seeing what's happening out there early on, thanks to the fog parked along the beach, but I can tell you that it's still on the smaller side out there, with a few playful ones!
We're seeing some semi-clean conditions, with some texture or even light bump on it early on. As far as the surf goes, there's a mixture of mainly southwest swell and a tad of northwest energy in the water.
That recipe is making for some drained out sectiony lines, with a few workable shoulders. Most spots in Newport Beach are pulling knee-to waist-high plus waves, with the standout combo breaks seeing some stomach-high waves, with a few plus sets.

Checking the tides...at 5:30 a.m it drained out to a negative 0.5 low which will have many spots in need of water and pretty inconsistent early to mid-morning. If you can, wait for that tide fill-in a bit. It eventually climbs back up to a 3.4 high at 12:04 p.m.
If you're planning on paddling, well that water temperature ist still feeling more like Northern California, so you'll want to wear that 4/3 fullsuit and possibly the booties, with it averaging between 54 and 56 degrees. Good luck out there!
