Wave Check: Thursday

It's kind of quiet out there!

Good Thursday morning, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report.  Well, your not going to find much happening out there.  Yep the small surf prevails, but it's likely to pick up a little throughout the day.

It's mostly clean and glassy early on, with a minor amount of west northwest swell in the water.  That recipe is offering some pretty weak sectiony lines, with a few decent ones.  You might want to get out a log!

Most spots in Newport Beach are running about knee-to waist-high, with the standout breaks pulling a few plus sets.

Taking a look at the tides...at 8:54 a.m it pushes way up to a 5.7 high which is going to have many spots pretty slow or even shut down mid-morning.  Your best bet...wait for that tide to turn around and drop a little.  It eventually drains out to a negative 0.6 low at 3:42 p.m.

If you're going to get wet, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit or the 4/3 and maybe the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 57 degrees.  See ya in the water!
