Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report. Well, we're seeing an increase in the action, but those conditions look like they're starting off on the wrong foot!
We're already seeing some texture or even light bump on the water at many spots due to the variable south wind. Taking a look at the waves, there's mostly building south southwest swell in the water and hardly any northwest energy.
That recipe is providing some fast and sorta crumbly semi-walled lines, with some fun corners to pick off. Most Newport Beach spots are running about knee- to stomach-high, with the standout south facing spots pulling chest-high waves, with maybe even a few plus sets once that tide fills-in.

Taking a look at the tides, at 10:29 a.m it climbs up to a 4.0 high and then drops to a 2.0 low at 3:08 p.m. If you're going to get wet, throw on a 3/2 fullsuit for at least that morning session, with the water temp averaging between 60 and 62 degrees. See ya in the water!
