Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Corona del Mar Patch surf report. Well, if you like it on the small side, then it's worth getting wet. Yep, you can still find a few playful size waves at those top combo spots in town.
The conditions are starting off pretty clean and glassy, with a mix of mostly easing west northwest swell and some minimal south southwest energy starting to fill-in.
That recipe is making for some pretty peaky lines, with a few good steep shoulders. Most spots in Newport Beach are seeing knee-to stomach-high waves, with the standout combo breaks pulling maybe a few chest-high sets.

At 7:00 a.m the tide drained out to a negative 0.5 low which will have many spots lacking water early to mid-morning. The tide then pushes back up to a 3.5 high at 1:18 p.m.
If you're going to get wet, throw on at least a 3/2 fullsuit or a 4/3 and possibly the booties, with the water temperature averaging between 56 and 57 degrees. See ya in the water!

FYI, County Health Officials urge surfers and swimmers to stay out of the ocean for at least 72 hours after a rain due to the possibility of increased bacteria levels especially near river mouths, storm drains and harbor entrances.
