Waking up with the waves on Wednesday, I'm Surf Junkie Jeff with your Newport Beach Patch surf report. Well, we're seeing a bit of an increase in the action, but unfortunately those conditions aren't cooperating!
Most spots are already seeing some texture or even light bump on the water due to the variable southerly wind. As far as the surf goes, we've got mainly building south-southwest swell in the water and very little northwest windswell.
That recipe is offering some crumbly racy lines, with some fun shoulders, but some the sets are lacking shape. Most Newport Beach spots are running about knee- to stomach-high, with the standout southerly spots seeing chest high waves, with maybe even a few plus sets once that tide fills-in.

Taking a look at the tides, At 10:29 this morning the tide climbs up to a 4.0 high and then drops to a 2.0 low at 3:08 this afternoon. If you're going to get wet, throw on a 3/2 fullsuit for at least that morning session, with the water temp averaging between 60 and 62 degrees. See ya in the water!
