Woman Attacked Co-Workers With Knife At South OC Eatery, Police Say

A woman was charged Tuesday for attacking two co-workers with a knife in a south Orange County restaurant.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — A woman was charged Tuesday was attacking two co-workers with a knife in a south Orange County restaurant last month.

Yuhua Yang, 59, was charged with two counts of attempted murder with sentencing enhancements for the personal use of a deadly weapon. She pleaded not guilty and is scheduled to appear in court next week for a pretrial hearing Jan. 9 in Newport Beach.

Orange County sheriff's deputies were dispatched about 11:45 a.m. Dec. 2 to a restaurant in the 27000 block of Antonio Parkway in Ladera Ranch regarding an apparent dispute among co-workers involving a knife, sheriff's Sgt. Michael Woodroof said.

When deputies arrived, there was a report of one victim with a bloody hand, Woodroof said.
