• 'Triple Threat' Pumped Storage Hydro plus Solar, Storage and Biofuel Microgrids Supported by $73 million in PG&E Funding (microgridknowledge.com) — New pumped-storage hydro microgrids funded through PG&E's program are planned to serve the northwest shore of Clear Lake, including Nice, providing at least 24 hours of backup power during outages. The Lake County projects will pair solar, storage, and water tanks on hillsides to generate renewable electricity, support the grid during peak demand, and supply water for firefighting, with feasibility work underway now.
