• Free Marine Flare Collection Events in October 2026 (contracosta.news) — North Richmond residents who boat or live in West Contra Costa can safely drop off expired marine flares for free at the Richmond hazardous waste facility from October 14–24, with proof of residency required. The program helps boaters get rid of hazardous, expired flares and learn about safer electronic distress-signal alternatives, with similar events also scheduled in Alameda, Marin, Santa Cruz, and San Mateo counties.
