1950s Film Idol and North Hollywood High Alum Farley Granger Dead at 85

The star of two films directed by Alfred Hitchcock dies in his Manhattan home.

Farley Granger, a 1950s screen idol and North Hollywood High alumnus, has died at age 85, according to the Associated Press.

Granger is reported to have died Sunday of natural causes at his home in Manhattan.

As a young man, Granger starred in a number of hit films, including The North Star (1943) and two Alfred Hitchcock films, Rope (1948) and Strangers on a Train (1951), before settling into a long career on the stage and in television.
