2 Wildfires Explode; Homes, Campsites Evacuated; Roads Closed [Video]
Both fires sparked Monday. Within a few hours, some residents were ordered to evacuate. More than 3,500 acres lost #FishFire #ReservoirFire
Two wildfires sparked in the Angeles National Forest late Monday morning and quickly grew into monsters that forced the evacuation of homes and campgrounds, and the closure of roads.
Calfire is now assisting in fighting the fires, one dubbed the #ReservoirFire while the other is called the #FishFire.

The fires are near Azusa and Duarte.

Evacuation orders were expanded Monday evening.
The city of Duarte has issued mandatory evacuation orders for Duarte Mesa residents living above Markwood Street between Westvale Road and Tocino Drive, and above Conata between Tocino Drive and Mountain Crest Road.

City officials say the order affects about 685 homes.
The order is in addition to earlier evacuation orders.
The speed at which the Reservoir Fire grew from 6 acres to 600 is breathtaking -- about an hour. And the evacuation order was just as hasty.

Highway 39 and Encanto Parkway are both closed because of the fire.
Angeles National Forest is fighting the blaze with multiple water-dropping helicopters.
The Reservoir Fire is just two miles north of the Azusa city limits, according to Azusa PD.

The Fish Fire has now burned more than 3,000 acres, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
One firefighter had to be taken to a hospital for heat exhaustion.
Evacuation orders have gone out, from Crystal Lake down to the fire and all campsites including Camp Williams.
Fire retardant is being dropped on the fire.
