Documentary directors Rebecca Hynes and Tamar Lando discuss today’s cowboy culture and their experiences as female directors in a traditionally masculine environment. Rodeo Dog, directed by Hynes, follows a family-run rodeo company in the Pacific Northwest to examine the meaning of tradition, livelihood, and family in the modern West. Lando’s Our Mother the Mountaintransports us to New Mexico to explore the darker aspects of cowboy life. Clips of each film will be shown during this discussion.
