A Night of Absolute Swing

Before the age of 5, Jacques was developing a style and flair of his own. Starting out on the trumpet, after hearing guitarist Joseph “Joe” Negri perform on the widely syndicated children’s show “Mister Roger’s Neighborhood” he made a decision to make his mark on what Jacques affectionally calls the “gitbox.”

 

That influence sparked young Jacques to begin a career that has now spanned over thirty years.

After his academic matriculation, Jacques was inspired to work with students of the Jazz art form as an educator, mentor and diplomat – serving as an Artist Teacher for the Thelonium Monk Institute. He is also an active member of the African-American Jazz Caucus, Jazz Education Network, Make Music LA and the Dolo Coker Jazz Foundation.

Jacques has performed worldwide with some of the greatest names in Jazz such as Wynton Marsalis, Freddy Cole, LesMcCann, George Benson, Stanely Turrentine, Oliver Lake and countless other icons of Jazz.
