Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society Leaves NoHo After 35 years; Replaced by Pot Shop

Back in Septmember, the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society, which has been in existence since 1934, left its clubhouse at 11513 Burbank Blvd., where it had been located since 1977, and moved to a new clubhouse at 6012 Tyrone Ave. in Van Nuys.

North Hollywood-Toluca Lake Patch writer Tiffany Kelly visited the the society at the clubhouse about a year ago and wrote a about the experience. It was the group's 3,834th meeting.

The society is proud to say on their website that not even the Northridge earthquake or the 1992 Los Angeles riots interrupted the group's regular Thursday night meeting.

As I was cruising down Burbank Boulevard today, I noticed a fresh paint job on the old clubhouse, pulled into the lot and discovered the building had become... another pot shop. This one is called NoHo Organic, and was not noticed in our recent attempt to calculate how many pot shops were in the North Hollywood area:
