Amtrak Train Hits and Kills Person in North Hollywood, Shutting Down Service
Amtrak service between Burbank-Bob Hope Airport Station and the Van Nuys Station has been halted while police investigate the fatal crash.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — An Amtrak train struck and killed a person in North Hollywood Wednesday morning, shutting down the tracks in the area.
Train 761 struck a person on the tracks at Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Sherman Way in North Hollywood, according to authorities. The tracks have been closed between the Burbank-Bob Hope Airport Station and the Van Nuys Station, according to Metrolink and the sheriff's Transit Policing Division.
The man, about 20, died at the scene at about 8:25 a.m., according to the coroner's office and the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Authorities withheld his name, pending notification of his relatives.
Metrolink's Ventura County Line train 110 to Los Angeles will hold at Van Nuys while an investigation is conducted.
