Annual North Hollywood High Alumni Picnic Set for June 26
Graduates of all ages from one of the oldest high schools in Los Angeles will be gathering.

An aumni event for all graduates of North Hollywood High School is set for Sunday, June 26. One of the event's organizers, , sent Patch the following press release:
All Huskie alums from North Hollywood High School will be joining young, old, middle-aged, and alive school graduates from one of the oldest high schools in Los Angeles.
Famous entertaintaintment figures and alums of NHHS such as actors Cuba Gooding Jr., vocalist Heather McRae, and conductor Michael Tilson Thomas have been invited to attend.

The yearly event will be held on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Quad area of the school on Magnolia Boulevard in NoHo. Hot Dogs and hamburgers will be grilled in the famous Quad area, where the yearly event will be hosted. Pre-recorded music from all years will be played for the former students' enjoyment.
Plans are being made for an all alum dance contest moving to such famous hits as Ray Charles' What I Say to Bill Haley's Rock Around the Clock. With an anticipated turnout of 2,000 alums, the dance contest could break a school record for number of participants at one dance.

The world famous "Nelson Yell," created by the talented late football coach, Harvey Nelson, will take place at High Noon in the Quad area. Nelson coached and taught physical education for over 30 years at the school. Famous NHHS alum Fred Kern, who led the Nelson Yell, is being recruited from Aiken, South Carolina, to once again lead the yell for all the Huskies in attendance.
Kern was also a professional keyboard player, and singer in a number of school musical groups, including the rock and roll musical group The Argonauts, which had a record deal with Spike Records. Also expected to attend is Huskie alumnus Andy Grant, who has a worldwide reputation for reorganizing historic royal Castles into tourist destinations in Great Britain ... Grant turned the Tower of London into a showcase to display all the Crown Jewels.
Ken Klein, a Huskie football standout, who later played professional football for the Los Angeles Rams and Houston Oilers, is trying to move some business commitments to attend the Huskie event. Klein might hold a special workout for alums with prior football injuries. The picnic will start at 11 a.m.
