Another NoHo Commons Business Closing

X-Polesitions is shutting its doors after July 31.

A few weeks ago, with the final preparations being made for the new health club at the NoHo Commons, it looked like the development was going to be at 100 percent commercial capacity.

But then , and now, just a few weeks later, its neighbor on Weddington Street, X-Polesitions, announced that it will be closing its doors at the end of July.

NoHo Commons houses numerous businesses, including Big Wangs, Panera Bread and Cella Gallery.

X-Polesitions, which offers exotic pole dancing classes and is located at 11135 Weddington Street, announced the closing with an email to its customers from the owner, Leah Butler.

"It comes with great sadness to announce the closing of X-Polesitions. I would like to personally thank all of our students both past and present for your support and patronage for the past six years," Butler wrote. "Some of you may know, that in my other life, I work in the film and entertainment industry. It too is a great passion of mine and one that I will be heading back to."

What was not mentioned in the email is that Butler is facing a possible prison sentence after pleading guilty to drug possession on July 15, according to the New York Times. She was arrested in September on more serious charges of of trying to sneak her husband's guns and illicit cash out of their Thousand Oaks home after he was arrested on Federal drug trafficking charges. The farewell email did not mention her legal troubles or say if they were related to the business closing.

Butler has worked as a casting director and is most noted for casting the film Precious, which her brother, Lee Daniels, directed.
