Australian Teen Killed Walking on the Hollywood Freeway

An 18-year-old man from Australia was struck and killed on a freeway in North Hollywood early today.

He was later identified as Rishi Chaubal Menon, said coroner’s Lt. Dave Smith.

Menon was struck in the northbound lanes of the Hollywood (170) Freeway, just north of the Ventura (101) Freeway at 12:18 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

He died at the scene, CHP Officer Francisco Villalobos said.

There was no description of the vehicle involved, Villalobos said.
