Baby Drowns In Mop Bucket At North Hollywood Zumba Studio

A one-year-old boy reportedly fell into a mop bucket and drowned in North Hollywood Thursday.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A one-year-old boy drowned Thursday night at a business in North Hollywood. The toddler had fallen into a mop bucket while his mother attended a Zumba class in another room at the business.

Paramedics were called at about 11:15 a.m. to the the 12000 block of Saticoy Street, said Officer Drake Madison of the Los Angeles Police Department.

According ABC7, the mother left her boy alone to sleep in an office next to the Zumba studio, but he fell out of his chair and drowned in the bucket as his mother was working out. Witnesses say the woman discovered the baby after working out, but he could not be revived.

The child was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Madison said.

Police are investigating the death.
