NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — Fire crews worked through the night to halt forward progress on the the Barham Fire, which has scorched 34 acres since it broke out Saturday afternoon. The blaze remains 15 percent contained, the LAFD said.

The brush fire has sent out plumes of smoke visible for miles in every direction. But any smoke visible Sunday is caused by smoldering objects inside the containment area and is not a threat, according to the LAFD.

Crews will keep working on the fire throughout Sunday and Monday and possibly longer, the LAFD said. Forest Lawn Drive remains closed between Barham Drive and the Ventura Freeway.
