Beverly Hills Housewife Kim Richards Rejects Plea Deal

The Reality TV star rejected a deal that would help her avoid jail if convicted of resisting arrest and battery on a peace officer.

An attorney for “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast member Kim Richards today turned down an offer by prosecutors to settle misdemeanor charges of public intoxication, resisting arrest and battery on a peace officer at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Richards, 50, who was arrested April 16 after she allegedly refused to leave the hotel’s Polo Lounge, did not appear at the airport-area courthouse. However, her attorney declined an offer made by prosecutors, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

The District Attorney’s Office said because the deal was declined, it was unable to provide specifics.

However, TMZ reported that prosecutors were offering to waive jail time and sentence Richards to three years probation, 52 alcohol treatment classes and 30 days community labor.

Richards’ attorney was trying to negotiate community service instead of community labor, because the 1970s child star has a foot injury, according to the website.

Richards would also be banned from the Beverly Hills Hotel under the last deal discussed, the entertainment news site reported.

The next court date is Sept. 14, with trial set for Sept. 30 if both sides can’t reach agreement on a deal.

Richards, whose struggle with sobriety has been documented on the Bravo series, was arrested again on Aug. 2 and jailed overnight on suspicion of shoplifting $600 in merchandise from a Target store in Van Nuys.
