Body Found In Griffith Park Near Old Zoo

LOS ANGELES, CA —A body was found in Griffith Park Thursday, and police are investigating the death.

Authorities did not disclose the name, age or gender of the person nor the manner of death. The body was discovered near the old Los Angeles Zoo. Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters were called in just after 7:10 p.m. to help park rangers recover the body, said LAFD spokesman Nicholas Prange.

"Due to the location and light conditions, the Incident Commander has determined a "short-haul" hoist will be the best course of action to relocate the victim for law enforcement and coroner to continue their investigations," Prange said.
