BOOK'D IN BURBANK Lit Event Honors Adopt-A-Shelter Dog Month
October 'Book'd' season finale to include shelter dog author readings
Book’d in Burbank: The Ultimate Bibliophiles’ Night Out wraps up season three on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, 8:00 P.M. – 9:30 P.M. at Theatre Banshee in the Magnolia Park section of Burbank. Presented by Liz D Publicity & Promotions, Book’d in Burbank is a bookish social gathering that treats book lovers to an evening of author readings, giveaways and a catered mingling reception.
October is Adopt-A-Shelter Dog Month. In support of this important call to action, Book’d in Burbank will feature shelter dog author readings by Jennifer Caloyeras and Joey Camen. Caloyeras is the author of STRAYS, a YA (young adult) novel that tells the story of an angry teen who is required to spend the summer rehabilitating troubled dogs at an animal shelter. Camen, a voice actor, comedian and writer, is the memoirist of MY LIFE WITH SNOOPY: HOW ONE SHELTER DOG’S LOVE CHANGED A MAN’S LIFE AND OTHER TAILS OF ADVENTURE. Senior animal control officer at the Burbank Animal Shelter, Stacie Wood-Levin, will also make an appearance at Book’d in Burbank to share the organization’s efforts to facilitate successful pet adoptions.
“It’s my hope that Book’d in Burbank’s Adopt-A-Shelter Dog Month theme will inspire book lovers in the audience to support their local animal shelter by either adopting a four-legged friend in need, or making a donation that will aid in the shelter’s mission to place pets in loving homes,” says Liz Donatelli, Liz D Publicity & Promotions Book Publicity and Special Events Director.
