Brian Clancy has been described as a “Young lion with an old soul.” His sound is hypnotizing and his playing creative and rhapsodic, yet still deeply rooted in the “Texas Tenor” tradition.

A native of the Lone Star State, Brian followed in his teachers’ footsteps and attended the University of North Texas where he toured and recorded with the world renowned One O’clock Lab Band. While living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area he played in dozens of bands honing his skills as a jazz-man and woodwind player, knowing his work would serve him well on the west coast.

 

Brian’s style has landed him the opportunity to performed with Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, Johnny Mathis and the Dallas Symphony Pops, Gilbert Castellanos, the Eric Reed Quintet and Angela Parrish to name just a few. His recording credits include Mary Stallings, Kirk Franklin, Kris Berg and the Metroplexity Big Band and the Grammy-nominated One O’clock Lab Band album, Lab 2009. His own music can be heard on the 2012 release, “Introducing Brian Clancy” which showcases his true colors as leader.

 

This young talent is making waves in many facets of the vast Los Angeles music scene. Whether Brian is heard supporting a big band or leading one of his own groups, his playing is sure to move and inspire those with their ears and hearts open.
