Watch: Brown Bear Leads Wildlife Officers on Chase through LA Neighborhood
A two-year-old bear rambled through Sylmar, scaling fences and trotting to freedom until wildlife officials were able to tranquilize it.
SYLMAR, CA - A 2-year-old male brown bear went rambling through a Sylmar neighborhood tonight until wildlife officers tranquilized it.
The bear was spotted roaming in the 13300 block of Eldridge Avenue, near the campus of Mission College, about 9:15 p.m., according to Andrew Hughan of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.
The cub ran through yards and climbed fences until wildlife officers were able to shoot it with a tranquilizer dart, Hughan said.

The bear was secured and was being taken back to the Angeles National Forest late tonight, Hughan added.
