Brush Fire Breaks Out In Sunland
The fire broke out near Hansen Dam Park, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, CA -- Firefighters needed about 35 minutes to knock down a brush fire that charred about three acres of grass Friday in the Sunland area, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The brush fire in the 10800 block of Wentworth Street, near Coal Canyon Road in the Sunland area near Hansen Dam Park, was reported at 3:56 p.m., fire department spokeswoman Amy Bastman said.
The department dispatched 22 firefighters to the scene, Bastman said. The initial total burned was about one-half acre, but spot fires increased the total to about three acres, she added.

No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
