Brush Fire Near Griffith Park Backs Up 5/134 Freeway Transition

Los Angeles firefighters quickly got the upper hand on the blaze at the junction of the 5 and 134 Freeways Wednesday,

LOS ANGELES, CA — A small brush fire jammed up traffic near the junction of the Golden State (5) Freeway and the Ventura (134) Freeway in the Griffith Park area Wednesday afternoon, but los Angeles firefighters quickly got the upper hand on the blaze.

The fire broke out at about 1:29 Wednesday in the 4900 block of North Griffith Park Drive near the golf course. By 1:50 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire department had the fire 100 Percent contained.

"Remaining visible flames being extinguished," said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.

The California Highway Patrol warned of traffic delays along both freeways.
