Brush Fire Scorches 5 Acres Near Hansen Dam
The small brush burning near the Hansen Dam has been contained at 5 acres.

LOS ANGELES, CA —A small brush fire broke out near the Hansen Dam Sunday afternoon.
Los Angeles city and county firefighters put up an aggressive battle to contain the blaze within an hour Sunday. Crews contained the brush fire at five acres, keeping it from damaging structures in a nearby neighborhood, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
The fire burned amid medium brush as temperatures soared well past 100 degrees.

The blaze was one of three brush fires burning in Los Angeles County Sunday afternoon, including a small fire at the Sepulveda Basin in Sherman Oaks and a fast-moving 200-acre blaze burning in the Angeles National Forest.
